This is a big day, and what you wear should feel like you. Your suit is designed around your build, your personal style, your venue, your wedding colours and how formal or relaxed you want the day to feel.

You might arrive knowing exactly what you want, or you might just know what you do not want. Both are absolutely fine. We will talk you through cloth, colour, cut, lapels, waistcoats, linings, buttons and all the little details that make the suit feel personal.

Our appointments are private, considered and relaxed. We work by appointment only, which means the time is yours. You can take your time over cloths, colours, cuts and details without feeling hurried or crowded, and without being expected to know exactly what you want before you arrive.

Our Carlisle, Newcastle and London locations are designed to feel comfortable and a little special, because we think the groom deserves an experience too.

Every Tasker & Shaw wedding suit is made individually for the person wearing it.
We take your measurements, talk about how you like your clothes to fit and then build the suit around you.

There is a wide choice of British and European cloths, suitable for weddings throughout the year. You might be drawn to lightweight cloth for a summer or destination wedding, a classic worsted wool, tweed, black tie or a traditional three-piece suit.

You do not need to know all the answers before you arrive. That is what the appointment is for. We will help you work through the options and find something that suits you, the wedding and the way you want to feel on the day.

Wedding Party Suits

There is no single right way to dress a wedding party.

Some couples love everyone in matching suits. Others prefer a more relaxed look, with colours, cloths and details that work together without everyone looking exactly the same.
We can help bring the whole look together for the groom, groomsmen, fathers and other members of the wedding party.

That might mean the same suit throughout, different waistcoats, coordinating ties and pocket squares, or simply choosing colours that sit beautifully together.

Because each garment is made to measure, every member of the party gets a suit created for their own shape and proportions. The result is a group that looks connected, polished and comfortable, while still letting everyone feel like themselves.

How the Process Works.

Your initial Consultation

We start with a conversation. We will talk about the wedding, the venue, the date, the season, the colours, the level of formality and the kind of look you have in mind. If you have no idea yet, that is completely fine too. We will show you cloths, talk through styles and help you narrow things down.

Once the overall direction is clear, we take detailed measurements and work through the design.

This is where we choose the jacket style, trousers, waistcoat and shirt if you are having them, lining, buttons and finishing details, this is where we make your wedding suit truly yours.

Fitting Consultations

When your garments are complete, we arrange a fitting and look at the suit properly on you.
Any final adjustments can then be made, there may be a single fitting or more, we will work with you until you are completely happy with the fit of your wedding suit

For wedding parties, we can also help coordinate the finishing details across the group where you would like us to. Sometimes it is the smallest choices that make the whole look feel complete.

Wedding Day Styling For Grooms and Their Party.

For couples who want everything to look right on the day itself, we also offer Wedding Day Styling. James can attend your wedding venue before the ceremony and prepare the groom and wedding party once everyone is dressed.

He arrives with the things that are usually missing at exactly the moment they are needed: a steamer, iron and ironing board, clothes brush and shoe care kit. Jackets are checked, trousers are pressed, collars are straightened and shoes are polished.

James can tie ties, adjust pocket squares, help with buttonholes and make sure the whole party looks polished before the photographs begin. It is part practical support, part styling and part reassurance at a point in the day when there is usually plenty going on already.

The Travelling Wedding Tailor.

If getting the wedding party together at one of our locations is difficult, we can come to you.
Our Travelling Tailor service allows us to arrange wedding tailoring appointments at your home, workplace, hotel or another suitable location. This can be particularly useful for larger wedding parties, groups travelling from different areas or couples planning weddings away from home.

We can bring cloth collections, take measurements and discuss the full wedding look in a setting that works for you. Travel is available throughout the UK by arrangement.

When Should I Book My Wedding Suit?

Earlier is always easier. Wedding tailoring involves design choices, manufacturing and fittings, and the process is much more enjoyable when nobody is watching the calendar too closely.

We recommend starting around months before the wedding wherever possible. For larger wedding parties, destination weddings or particularly busy times of year, allowing a little more time is helpful.
