Brandon Flowers gives a modern suiting masterclass at Glastonbury.

Brandon Flowers has delivered not only an awesome vocal performance as a guest of Sir Elton John in his Glastonbury headline set and possible final UK performance ever but added a sartorial masterclass too.

Brandon Flowers, lead singer with The Killers has always been known as a well dressed man throughout his career, opting for more sartorial looks, suiting and timeless shirting even when the trends for on-stage and music video menswear was to be “out there” with weird cuts, strange colours and materials, he kept to his own style language and has looked great doing it.

For me, he was the best dressed man at Glastonbury 2023. He’s never been afraid of colour and for this performance donned a red double breasted suit with gold buttons and a wide peaked lapel. It fitted impeccably and was teamed with a light blue shirt with a hidden tab collar, a look which has been (for me rather savagely) compared with Alan Partridge, for me it’s unfair and I don’t agree.

What really stood out for me was the fit of the suit. The jacket was a fantastic fit across the shoulders and biceps and featured bright gold buttons on the worn open front as well as five gold cuff buttons, which mirrored the five cuff buttons of Sir Elton’s rather more garish, but very Elton - gold lame suit worn for his whole set.

Brandon’s trousers featured a very slight flair to them, a trend I’ve seeing more and more on the red carpet and no break which continues the move away from the last couple of years of overly short and tight suits and back towards a more classic fit.
